Toa Payoh: A Fresh Take on Classic Scandinavian

The perfectly pale aesthetics of the classic Scandinavian interior design creates a relaxing ambience to any space. Its crisp look of whites and greys is very calming to the eye. In this interior design in Singapore, various elements were used to create a fresh take on the classic Scandi style. From the usual white walls and furniture, this home used a mix of cool colours and accents to help liven up the room.

The whitewashed wall in the kitchen paired with teal blue cabinetry made this HDB interior design more unique and lively. This interior also continues in the kitchen island where the blue shade bridges the gap between paleness of white walls and ceiling. The lighting fixture also extended the sophisticated glow in the space.

Textured light grey bathed the walls and flooring of the bathroom. The interior design styles of this monochrome room are lifted by the warmth of natural wood storage and cabinetry. Black fixtures and accessories created a unique look to this room.

Rich wood herringbone flooring runs through the living room, creating a contrast to the white and grey walls. Matching is the wooden centre table to the same palette. Colourful throws help unite the dark brown sofa with the room vibe. The plant nestled against the pure background provided an architectural feature in the room, while the artwork above the sofa makes an unexpected statement to space.

The wooden tone continues in the entertainment cabinetry below the television as the light from a large window reflects over living space. Breaking the monotone is the accent wall just behind the television. A guitar leaned on the wall, and the area rug adds personality.

Moving into the bedroom is a cosy wooden bed ensemble against the pale grey backdrop. It is then balanced out with a darker grey wall on the side. The purple shades of sheets and curtains, the accent lights, and the simple art piece liven up space. Adding up is the dresser which is also in wooden tone, and accent light brightens up the room.
